A study on general public£§s feeling toward hygienic control on acupuncture treatment given by the visually impaired acupuncturists





Abstract
We have surveyed 183 university students using questionnaire method in order to understand general public¡¯s feeling toward hygienic control on acupuncture treatment given by the visually impaired acupuncturists. The result showed the followings: 75 students (41%) think ¡°visually impaired acupuncturists can not control on hygiene without help¡±, 50 students (27.3%) ¡°feel unsure about cleanliness of hands of visually impaired acupuncturists because they touch many things to understand their surroundings.¡±, 45students (24.6%) consider ¡°visually impaired acupuncturists can not be kept clean their clinics.¡±, and 15 students think ¡°the bed sheets are dull in the clinics of visually impaired acupuncturists¡±. In addition, these images above related to the fear for hygiene of acupuncture treatment and ¡°visually impaired person touch things to understand their surroundings¡± that is regarded as the characteristic feature of visually impaired person. The cross analysis shows following two items, ¡°the visually impaired acupuncturists can control on hygiene without help¡± and ¡°the bed sheets are dull in the clinics of visually impaired acupuncturists¡± have relationship with both fear for hygiene of acupuncture treatment and ¡°visually impaired person touch things to understand their surroundings¡±. Furthermore, there is significant relation between ¡°visually impaired person touch things to understand their surroundings¡± and ¡°I feel unsure about cleanliness of hands of visually impaired acupuncturists because they touch many things to understand their surroundings¡±.
