A study on general public＇s feeling toward hygienic control on acupuncture treatment given by the visually impaired acupuncturists

Abstract

|
We have surveyed 183 university students using questionnaire method in order to understand general public’s feeling toward hygienic control on acupuncture treatment given by the visually impaired acupuncturists. The result showed the followings: 75 students (41%) think “visually impaired acupuncturists can not control on hygiene without help”, 50 students (27.3%) “feel unsure about cleanliness of hands of visually impaired acupuncturists because they touch many things to understand their surroundings.”, 45students (24.6%) consider “visually impaired acupuncturists can not be kept clean their clinics.”, and 15 students think “the bed sheets are dull in the clinics of visually impaired acupuncturists”. In addition, these images above related to the fear for hygiene of acupuncture treatment and “visually impaired person touch things to understand their surroundings” that is regarded as the characteristic feature of visually impaired person. The cross analysis shows following two items, “the visually impaired acupuncturists can control on hygiene without help” and “the bed sheets are dull in the clinics of visually impaired acupuncturists” have relationship with both fear for hygiene of acupuncture treatment and “visually impaired person touch things to understand their surroundings”. Furthermore, there is significant relation between “visually impaired person touch things to understand their surroundings” and “I feel unsure about cleanliness of hands of visually impaired acupuncturists because they touch many things to understand their surroundings”.
